FAQ
Q: How much will it cost to photograph my horse(s)?
A: It varies depending on how many horses you have and what kind of session you desire. Check out my Services page for more information and pricing on my sessions, or feel free to Contact Me!
Q: Do you only photograph horses?
A: While I do tend to focus on horses, I enjoy photographing a variety of subjects! I'm available for portraits, senior photos and soon I'll be branching out into pet photography. If you are interested in a session type I don't have listed under my Services page, just give me a call and we can discuss rates.
Q: Will you travel to (name place)?
A: YES! I am absolutely willing to travel for a session, however, travel fees will apply outside of the Monroe WA area. This is where scheduling group sessions are very much to your advantage, not only will you get a reduced rate from scheduling a group, but the travel costs will be split between owners. The more you can get together, the less the cost!
Q: The free photos you offer with the sessions, are they per horse or per owner?
A: I previously offered a free print per owner only, but I found it unfair to owners scheduling multiple horses. I now offer a free 8x10 print PER HORSE.
Q: Do you offer CDs of photos?
A: Well, yes and no. I DO offer digital downloads through my website that come with print and web rights. I can also supply those to you on a CD. I DO NOT offer "discount CDs" of images for less than print prices.
Many people have the misconception that because they are "just files" images on a CD should cost less than prints. In actuality the opposite is true. The true cost of images isn't in the printing, its in the rights associated with the images. Prints do not come with reproduction or web rights, they are simply yours to view and enjoy. Digital files, however, MUST come with rights of reproduction and web use because that's what people intend to do, reprint the images on their own and/or use the images online. This increases the value of the image considerably. Currently my digital downloads are priced at $50 for a 1mpix web use image, $80 for 4mpix image (suitable for most printing needs), and $150 for originals (for use in print ads or posters).
I am aware that some photographers do offer these discount CDs. Because of the low cost usually the images on the CDs have none of the color correction and quality editing that I put into my photos. This quality is not something I am willing to sacrifice. I am also not in a financial position to sell my images for less than they are worth. I apologize for any inconvenience.
Q: May I use your photos for a horse SIM game?
A: No. Because the horses that I photograph do not belong to me I do not feel comfortable giving permission for people to use their likeness without the owners permission. Check out the stock accounts on Deviantart for some great horse photos that you are free to use (with the photographers permission).
